PNA Hot Topics, Notices and Reports

• On 9/23/08 the PNA will hold a Community Forum Meeting from 7:00-8:30 PM at the Columbia Cottage located at 4339 N. Lombard in the Columbia Park. The agenda for the community forum meeting is:
• Crime report from Commander Henderson of the Portland Police
• Vote on the proposed changes to the bylaws
• Hear a presentation by Marlys Mock about the old Clarendon School site
• Offer "Good Neighbor" modifications to the proposed Portland Hope Meadows lease. Shannon Callahan from Dan Saltzman's office will be present. Note: this will not be a "we do not want Portland Hope Meadows" discussion; that is for the City Council lease hearing in early October. The PNA is on record as being opposed to Portland Hope Meadows
• The PNA Board meeting scheduled for 9/23/08 is cancelled.
• On 8/26/08 the PNA held a Community Forum Meeting. The minutes will be available after 9/23/08. Highlights from the meeting include:
• Unanimously amended the bylaws to establish a quorum
• Unanimously voted to accept without modification the grievance committee's report and recommendations pertaining to Richard Ellmyer's 22 allegations against the PNA
• Reviewed the Board's recommended amendments to the bylaws.
• On 8/17/08 the grievance committee cleared the PNA of Richard Ellmyer's 22 grievances. Highlights include: 1) The June 10, 2008 elections were valid; 2) Both Jeanne Knepper and Susan Landauer are legitimate PNA members and their tenures as co-vice-chair were valid.

• On 4/18/08 the City Commissioners did not oppose PIR's variance request to hold drag races in August.
• On 4/9/08 the Portland city council voted 4-0 in favor of the Oregon National Guard's request to own and occupy the decommissioned Sharff Army Reserve Center in the Portsmouth neighborhood.
• On 2/27/08 Rep. Tina Kotek proposes to the PDC that the Oregon National Guard get the Sharff Base
• On 2/4/08 Friends of PIR respond to the PNA's questions
• On 1/22/08 Friends of PIR propose replacing the volunteer Noise Review Board, appointed by the mayor, for Portland International Raceway noise variance issues
